In my darling little princess mind I pictured us getting here and setting up house and me jumping right into artwork and lah-tee-dah. Looking back I don’t know if I would shake myself or give myself a tender hug for the wrong wrong assumption.
It has been 47 days since we set sail. There are still some lingering boxes and I said just last night that I am sure there will be boxes out until the end of days. Our first night here we had a gorgeous sunset but we had a lot of tiny surprises in store.
Ahhhhh yes, this looks like the perfect way to end a long long trip. But this picture doesn’t show me vacuuming the ceiling until midnight trying to get rid of the thousands of bugs that came through the front door.
The next morning I looked in my dog’s water bowl and there they were, SWIMMING! Last night they were flying and today swimming. I didn’t unpack a thing. I spent the day trying to find out what in the world this triathlon bug was.
Ladies and gentleman, I introduce to you the water boatman.
Lesson number one of my new country life: it ain't always pretty. ;)
